As part of the preparation of the Circular Czech Republic 2040 strategy, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) prepared a number of detailed analyses for the Ministry of the Environment on selected areas, including waste management, economic instruments, macroeconomic projections, consumer behaviour, the situation in other EU countries and others.

The OECD team of experts also included ENVIROS staff who produced an analysis of the waste management sector in the Czech Republic. This consisted of an analysis of 15 selected material and waste streams and proposals for further development or application of appropriate instruments. The areas of construction and demolition waste, municipal waste, plastics, biodegradable waste and hazardous waste were analysed in more detail.
